EMAIL gaffes at work have seen one in 20 people reprimanded or even fired, according to a British survey.
One in five admitted sending an inappropriate email in the heat of the moment, while one in three (31 per cent) said they had hit "reply all" instead of "reply" by mistake.
More than one in 10 (13 per cent) have mistakenly sent an email insulting a colleague to the person they are insulting.
Men were more likely to make a mistake, with 28 per cent having made an email faux pas, compared to 17 per cent of women.
Almost half (44 per cent) said they do not send letters any more.
It seems people sometimes choose not to pick up a phone or meet somebody face to face either - one in five admits dumping a partner by text and one in 10 has ended a relationship by email.
The survey of 2,000 people was commissioned to mark the DVD and Blu-ray release of Going Postal, the television adaptation of Terry Pratchett's novel, on August 23.
