Roberta dancing for fifth win

THE Jeff Healy-trained Disco Roberta will pull out all the stops to take her record to five wins from five starts on the Thabeban Park today.

Drawn ideally in box two, Disco Roberta should account for the 4/5th Grade field in Race 3 on the program if she runs up to her form.

But this is a good field and possibly the hardest task for Roberta to date.

Richo’s Choice ran an uncustomary poor race last week and trainer Marie Richards will be out to correct that lapse in form.

Carlinford Sam will be there at the finish, as will Charter Boat.

Race 1, the maiden over 460m, will find second place dead-heaters Diamond Facet and Ledaro Holly trying to upstage each other, but keep an eye on the first starter Preston All Star for Nathan Thomas.

Reports are the son of Big Daddy Cool will sidestep the opposition to score.

Black Eyed Aidan will return to 460m in the Novice to take on in-form Tail Train, while I’m The Darling for Kevin Kemp is drawn to upstage the preferred runners from box 1.

The Free For All, over 460m, brings together a crackerjack field ... only five runners, but all class.

Last week’s winner Oh My Papa duels with Brodies Breed again, Major Billy Blue has the red rug and Ranger Thomas and Hervey Bay Flyer are capable of running time on their day.

Gates open at 11am and there’s a bookmaker, tote and canteen.
