ST Patrick's Catholic School celebrated Catholic Education Week in style on Friday with a jumping castle, radio station and sausage sizzle breakfast on offer.
Year 1 teacher Catherine Nash said the fun did not stop there, with a DIY workshop for students hosted by Bunnings, a tae-kwon-do display and a visit from students' families.
“We had half an hour of open classrooms for parents and grandparents to visit,” she said.
St Patrick's Catholic School assistant principal in religious education Bianca Hodges said it was great for families to visit on the day.
“A lot of families haven't had a chance to see the renovations and new classrooms and how it's been expanded in the last few months,” she said.
“It was great to see them down here.”
Ms Hodges said the day started when the school opened at 6.15am.
“The first students arrived at 6.30am.”
She said the event also invited the outside community into the school.
The school held a liturgy and Paul Neville presented an Australian flag.
“He spoke about how it's a symbol of our country,” Ms Hodges said.
The school finished with a picnic lunch at 11am.
“It's a great celebration of the work people in Catholic schools do and it shows what we offer,” she said.
“It was great to celebrate it.”
