Nick McEwan with his new iPhone4.
HOURS before phone shops in the region opened their doors yesterday, customers were queuing to get their hands on the latest iPhone.
Lines at the Optus store in Hinkler Central began forming at 7am.
However only a fraction of those hoping to purchase the latest Apple gadget succeeded with limited supplies available across the region this week.
Nick McEwan waited for about two hours to get one of the six phones available in the shop saying that, for Apple, it was worth the wait.
“Apple really meets customers' needs,” he said.
“The company caters for a lot of people which brings us back again and again.”
Mr McEwan said he already owned the iPhone 3G and said it was hard to go back after using the technology.
“I lost my phone for about three months and it took me about three weeks to learn how to use a normal phone again,” he said.
It is unknown when further stocks will reach Bundaberg with many stores saying their phone stocks are yet to arrive.
