CONDOMS, STIs, responsible drinking and relationships were in focus at a sexual health expo yesterday.
The Be Game No Shame Day at the PCYC helped local indigenous youth aged between 14 and 18 learn the importance of sexual health.
Bundaberg Community Health Program manager Patrick Martin said the expo aimed to raise awareness about sexually transmitted infections, the implications of unplanned pregnancy and the sexual health services available to young people locally.
“Sexually transmitted infections such as chlamydia, gonorrhoea and syphilis represent an increased risk to young people who are sexually active,” Mr Martin said.
Queensland Health sexual health clinic nurse unit manager Fiona Stack said youths were taught strategies to ensure sexual health responsibility.
