Kirsty Wenham is happy the winning ticket came from Chippendales News Agency.
A BUNDABERG grandmother will allow herself some small pleasures such as turning on the heater after winning more than $571,000 in Gold Lotto at the weekend.
“I had the heater on this morning,” she said.
“I normally wouldn’t turn it on because it costs so much to run.”
The grandmother, who asked to remain anonymous, said it was a real joke she needed to win lotto to do simple things.
The woman said she planned to share her $571,428.58 windfall with her family members, but would allow herself to have a few small treats.
“The last time I won a small prize I used it to get my hair done,” she said.
“I could have a perm every day with this one.”
The winning ticket was a Super QuickPick bought from newsXpress Chippindalls Sugarland, at Sugarland Shoppingtown.
Chippindalls manager Kristy Wenham said it was “pretty exciting” to sell one of the winning tickets.
“We’ve only sold a winner once before, and that was a while ago,” she said.
“We were due.”
Miss Wenham said the store would normally sell hundreds of tickets for a Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
There were seven winners nationally in Saturday night’s draw.
