Maria Achurch and Cr Lynne Forgan are looking forward to Rockwiz coming to the Moncrieff Theatre in May.
TICKETS are selling fast for the Bundaberg leg of the popular SBS TV show RocKwiz’s first live Australian tour.
The music quiz show will be on at the Moncrieff Theatre on Wednesday, May 19.
“Mistress of ceremonies Julia Zemiro, firm but fair co-host Brian Nankervis; the legendary RocKwiz Orkestra and Dugald — with mystery guests in tow — will be touring live for the first time ever in the show’s five year on-air history,” RocKwiz spokeswoman Vicky Iliopoulis said.
“It will be just like you see on your telly every Saturday night on SBS – but this time, so close you can smell them.”
The RocKwiz tour will take in 19 cities across all Australian states and territories, but is expected to feature more music and more guests than the usual Saturday night show.
Nankervis will conduct his pre-show selection quiz to find contestants from the audience, there will be two mystery “Who Can It Be Now” guests, as well as a special “Snob’s Choice” performance in each show.
Ms Iliopoulis said the regular “Local and or General”, “Million Dollar Riff”, “Master Blaster” and “Furious Five” rounds of music and questions would be happening, along with some special surprises.
She said the shows would be live and not for broadcast.
Now in its seventh series, the program has presented more than 200 Australian and international musical recording and touring artists.
Bundaberg Regional Council social and recreation spokeswoman Lynne Forgan said it was “fantastic” to have the city included in the national tour.
“Ticket sales are doing very well, although there are still tickets available,” she said.
Cr Forgan said while she was not a regular viewer of the TV show, she had seen it and been impressed.
However, it was mainly aimed at the younger generation.
“I think it depends on the guest artists. I have had a lot of queries about who they are,” she said.
