Residents told to remember rates

RATEPAYERS have been reminded rate payments are due tomorrow.

A Bundaberg Regional Council spokesman said 11% interest would be charged on all unpaid rates.

Ratepayers having difficulty paying their rates should contact the council’s debt administration section to discuss options.

The spokesman said the council provided ratepayers with a number of options to make payment as convenient as possible.

These included BPAY, internet banking, phone, mail or at any Australia Post outlet.

Ratepayers who wanted to pay in person could do so at their nearest council office.

In Bundaberg that was at 190 Bourbong Street, in Bargara 169 Hughes Road, in Childers at 45 Churchill Street and in Gin Gin at 4 Dear Street.

Ratepayers who have changed their postal address had to advise the council in writing so records could be amended.

The spokesman said the discount would not be permitted after tomorrow if the reason for not receiving the rates notice was a change of address without advising the council.

For any rates enquiries ratepayers can contact the Bundaberg Regional Council by phoning 1300 883 699, by fax on (07) 4150 5410 or by email at ceo@bundaberg.qld.gov.au.

Bundaberg Regional Council has approved a new high-rise development in Bargara.

The development, at 1 Burkitt Street, will feature a total of 33 residential units.
