TRINITY’S school mates and staff from Gooburrum State School have been left with a sense of loss, but also of closure, following the funeral service for the murdered eight-year-old yesterday.
Acting principal Halli Cantrell said she was “in awe” of the way the service was handled.
“It highlighted how much she meant to everyone and how the (school) doesn’t feel right without her,” she said..
“For me, and our staff, the service made us stop and think about how precious our little kids are.”
The principal said her pupils had handled the service well.
“There’s a general sense of being a little bit lost,” she said.
“It’s very final for us now. But I was really impressed with the kids and the way they handled it.”
