UNITED may be at the top of the premiership table, but South Sluggers are not intimated by the prospect of playing the premiers in tomorrow’s match.

Fresh from a win against North Bundaberg Moray Eels that saw them take the lead of the competition, United will head into Frank Coulthard Oval confident.

But after beating Western Suburbs last weekend, the Sluggers are beginning to build their own momentum.

Veteran player Gemma Bush said her side is not afraid to take on anyone in the competition.

“We started slow but we are starting to play good softball again, the competition has really evened out.”

Meanwhile the Eels will look to rebound against Western Suburbs Panthers in the second game of the day.

Eels were the form of the competition until United outclassed them last weekend.

A win against Panthers could be the perfect platform to rebuild form going into the back-end of the season.
