Leaders playing strugglers

IT will be a case of the top of the table taking on the bottom at Frank Coulthard Oval this weekend when Across the Waves 8 plays United 7 in this weekend’s men’s fixtures.

Across the Waves sit atop the Bundaberg Softball Association ladder with 19 points, while United languish in the cellar with just seven points.

Despite the odds against them, United should come out fired up for this clash.

But the most intriguing clash of the weekend could come from the two Western Suburbs teams.

Packed with a crop of rugby league players who had never played softball before this season, Wests Sabre-toothed have been one of the surprise packets so far this year.

Sitting on 15 competition points they are just two behind South Sluggers and four points from the leaders.

Lynx is also on 15 points and will be desperate to come out on top in this inter-club clash.

Sluggers will play United 8 in the afternoon game.
