Bolter wins big money

Greyhounds: An unbackable dog from Brisbane put in the run of his life at Thabeban Racecourse on Saturday to claim $2500 in prizemoney.

Greyhounds: An unbackable dog from Brisbane put in the run of his life at Thabeban Racecourse on Saturday to claim the $2500 prizemoney in the Greyhounds Queensland Young Guns final.

Unpainted, owned by Steven Boody from Churchable, stormed to an eight-and-a-quarter length victory in the final.

“That was an absolute shock,” Bundaberg Greyhound Association president Brian Terry said.

“He had unbackable odds.”

The favourite in the main race, Convincing Talk, started out of the gates and gave up the early lead to Unpainted.

From there the unheralded dog made light work of the opposition, cruising to victory in 26.21 seconds.

Totally Mine and Major Billy Blue ran in second and third, respectively.

But the major talking point of Saturday’s meet at Thabeban was the scorching performance of Richo’s Choice in the maiden race.

In its debut race the River Heads dog ran a quick 26.54sec to win by seven lengths.
