CAPTAIN Haydn Frisby covers thousands of kilometres every month as a pilot with the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

So when Bundaberg police put in the hard yards to help raise money for the service, Capt Frisby appreciated their efforts.

“We travel such vast distances to reach patients, and donations like this keep us flying,” he said.

The first annual Bundaberg Police Charity Ball raised more than $10,000 for the RFDS at a gala black-tie event at Brothers Club on October 17.

Bundaberg police inspector Kev Guteridge said the success of the night was a tribute to the people who attended.

“We were overwhelmed with the support and the hard work that everyone put in to make it such a success,” Insp Guteridge said.

“We hope to raise twice as much next year.”
