Policewoman hit by flying bottle

A FIRST-YEAR female police constable has been injured after a glass bottle was thrown at her at Bundaberg, 280km north of Brisbane.

Police said the female officer was assaulted after she attempted to shut down a party at Beatrice Street around 9.30pm (AEST) on Friday.

She was standing near a police car when the bottle was thrown at her, hitting the back of her neck and injuring her, police said.

Another bottle was also thrown, hitting the police vehicle.

The officer was taken to the Bundaberg Base Hospital for treatment for bruising and swelling, but was later released.
