A NEWSMAIL reader who wishes to remain anonymous has taken photos of a strange object in the sky over Burnett Heads.

"I took these pics around 2am this morning (Tuesday 12th) only off the phone and at a distance but in Burnett Heads," they said.

"I blew one up to 120% in paint program on PC, looks a bit like a helicopter but was just hovering and there was another light below the orange/red one.

"I also seen another very, very bright light a little closer to shore around 4am about a week or so ago but no pics there."

The sighting is not the first in the region, with many people contacting the NewsMail over the years to tell their tales of strange things in the heavens.
