Mother takes frustrations out on employment staff

A MOTHER who took her frustrations out on Max Employment staff has landed herself a hefty fine, after she swore and threw furniture at the premises in Kingaroy.

Irene Sandow pleaded guilty to one count of being a public nuisance after she acted aggressively towards staff and police at the premises on August 25.

The court heard the 21- year-old's partner had unsuccessfully sought employment through the service for more than a year, causing Sandow to grow increasingly frustrated.

The mother-of-one verbally abused staff, threw furniture around and refused to leave before police arrived.

Sandow then went out onto the road and continued to yell and was subsequently arrested.

Sandow had one previous offence for assault, which resulted in a probation.

Magistrate Andrew Hackett said Sandow was "an accident waiting to happen."

"I'm told you've for a one-year-old and you're upset that your partner has no employment, which you notices was going on for more than 12 months," Mr Hackett said.

"You want your situation to improve obviously, and you want money for the family and your partner to have a job.

"But there are ways to address these issues, and yelling, standing in the middle of the road and throwing furniture is not going to achieve anything except get you a fine."

Due to her limited history, Sandow was convicted and fined $300, no conviction recorded.
