Mariners want Asian success

DESPITE sitting equal last in Group G, the Central Coast Mariners haven't given up hope of progressing to the second round of the Asian Champions League competition.

The A-League Premier's Plate winners have just three points from their three matches in the ACL competition, but have a great chance to notch a win against Chinese side Tianjin Teda (also on three points) at Gosford tonight.

The Mariners have been buoyed by re-signing veteran Daniel McBreen for the 2012-13 A-League season, the 35-year-old saying everyone at the club realised the match against Tianjin was a "must win".

"We know we need all three points. They're obviously a good team, but we've been pinpointing some areas where we believe we can take advantage," McBreen said.
