Man, 93, dies after being struck by car while walking dog

A 93-year-old man who was struck by a van on Hinkler Avenue on Thursday morning has died, according to Queensland Police.

Police believe the North Bundaberg man was walking his dog just before 6am when he was hit by a van as he crossed the road.

He was taken to Bundaberg Base Hospital with suspected injuries to his lower leg and pelvis.

Investigations are continuing.

 

Man in 90s struck by car while walking his dog

A MAN was transported to Bundaberg Hospital with a suspected lower leg and pelvic fracture after being struck by a car this morning.

Initial investigations suggest at about 5.50am, a man believed to be in his 90s, was walking his dog on Hinkler Avenue and was struck by a van as he was crossing the road.

Hinkler Avenue was closed but has since been reopened.

The man has been transported to Bundaberg Base Hospital with serious injuries.

Neither the occupants of the van or the dog were injured during the crash.

The man was transported to hospital in a stable condition.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
