POLICE answering an unrelated call have unearthed a box lab at a Malvern Dr address, Moore Park Beach, locating chemicals and property consistent with those used in the production of drugs.

Bundaberg Criminal Investigation Branch Detective Rob Darney said police went to the address at about 10.30am on Sunday.

"As a result a crime scene was established and guarded overnight until the Illicit Laboratory Investigation Team arrived," he said.

Det Snr Const Darney said a man in his late 40s was arrested and charged with and possessing property suspected of being used for the production of dangerous drugs and permitting a place to be used for commission of drug offences.

The man was released on bail to appear in court at a later date.
