Man on Burnett Bridge encouraged to jump by witnesses

A SHOCKING video has been posted on social media showing a man standing on the railing of the Burnett River traffic bridge about to jump off.

Even more distressing is the way witnesses alternate between encouraging the man to jump and telling him to climb back on to the walkway.

From the audio it appears the man is not over land and if he jumped would land in the water.

Police were unaware of the incident when contacted by the NewsMail, but a spokesman did say the man on the bridge could be charged with climbing a structure.
