UPDATED 8.50am: MAL Forman's lead in the mayoral race has once again stretched to more than 1000 votes.

It is only the second time the gap between Mr Forman and closest rival Bill Trevor has been more than 1000 since Saturday's poll.

Mr Forman, the former Bundaberg City deputy mayor, has 17,124 votes compared to 16,095 votes to Mr Trevor, the former Isis Shire Mayor.

Despite gaining some ground, sitting mayor Lorraine Pyefinch was well back in third with 9778 votes.
