Fire breaks out at Childers

A FIRE broke out at the Australian Prime Fibre building at Childers earlier this afternoon.

A fire brigade spokesman said the blaze started between 4.30pm and 5pm after the conveyor belt carrying cane mulch broke down.

Four fire trucks were sent to control the blaze.

The spokesman said the fire smouldered and was difficult to put out but was under control by 7.30pm.
