MONTEZUMA'S Bundaberg captured this young boy stealing a tip jar from the restaurant at the weekend.

In an effort to catch the boy, they posted still images from CCTV footage online of him reaching in to the jar, which quickly circulated through hundreds of people's Facebook pages yesterday.

The majority of the comments left on the Montezuma's Facebook page were in support of identifying the juvenile.

Do you agree with the restaurant's decision to identify the boy or do you think it is trial by Facebook and a violation of the Juvenile Justice Act?

Let us know what you think by leaving a comment below or by calling reporter Emily Prain on 4153 8502.
