VIDEO: More arrests could come following wild party

UPDATE 2PM: Officer in charge of Bundaberg Police Senior Sergeant Erwin Hoffmann said more arrests could be possible this afternoon following a wild party last night at North Bundaberg.

"Six arrests were made with the possibility of more arrests this afternoon," he said.

"Police got called to a noisy party complaint and responded where things were going reasonably okay.

"Later on that evening at around 10pm police responded to an out of control incident out there where there were about 80 juveniles and the majority of them were intoxicated."

Snr Sgt Hoffman said there was havoc on the small North Bundaberg street and described the behaviour of party goers as "absolutely disgraceful" - with many young people "tuning on police".

"We had to send 12 police officers out there and five vehicles," he said.

"That's a lot of resources to have to deploy to a party which just got out of control.

"People need to realise you can't host these sort of parties in an suburb areas."

Snr Sgy Hoffman said the party wasn't fair on surrounding neighbours.

"It is just not on and shows total disregard to the other people who live in that area who have to put up with the damage and the noise and the general amenity in that area," he said.

He said there were about 80 drunken teenagers at the party.

"Where's the parental control in relation to this," Snr Sgt Hoffman said.

"People hosting these types of events should feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

"It was a registered party but police aren't responsible for the control of a party, police aren't responsible for limiting numbers of drunken teenagers who turn up to these parties."

It is estimated in excess of 100 people were in attendance.

Police declared the event 'out of control', before shutting it down.
