JULIE Maree Nash, 57, of Isis River, has been fined $1700 after she was caught with 279 grams of marijuana.
Police prosecutor Senior Constable Hayley Glover told the Childers Magistrate Court police attended Nash's property on June 25, where they located 190g of marijuana mixed with other material in the woman's walk-in wardrobe.
A further 89g of marijuana mixed with other material was found in a plastic bag, the court heard.
The woman's defence argued Nash had ongoing issues with her health and used marijuana to self-medicate for pain relief.
Magistrate Gary Finger told Nash to find another way to alleviate her pain.
"There would certainly be some relief you get from pain but there's legal ways to do it and you can't use drugs," he said.
"You come before the courts again for this sort of offence, especially of this quantity, there's a very real risk you'll do prison time…
"It's not a very pleasant place to be."
A conviction was recorded.
