Animation shows flood rise and fall

The Bundaberg region reached a record flood high on January 29.
The Bundaberg region reached a record flood high on January 29.

ACCORDING to Bundaberg Regional Coucil, the region has experienced a 0.5% Annual Exceedance Probability (200-year) flood event on the Burnett River and is the largest flood in recorded history peaking at 9.53m at the Bundaberg gauge on January 29 at 3pm.

To assist the broader community, the below map has been produced to represent the estimated inundation area. 

A video, uploaded to YouTube by the council, shows an animation estimating inundation areas during the rise and fall of floodwaters.
